PSAE Data: An Integration Model to Inform Instruction and Impact Student Achievement
Recent studies question rigor in the classrooms. Understanding data pertaining to the overlap of state and college entrance benchmarks help determine if we have enough rigor to exceed Content Standard & College Readiness goals. Using appropriate summative and formative assessments can guarantee mastery of non-negotiable skills. Attend this workshop to find out how: state and college entrance data are used to target common skills sets; ·assessments are integrated in the curriculum to exceed state/college readiness objectives;· a well-balanced instructional program connecting assessment to instruction avoids “teaching to the test;” and·you can use rigorous interim assessment templates to achieve student gains!
Please note this workshop is suitable for middle and high school educators (7—12).

Developing a Vision and Purpose to Drive Teaching and Learning
Research indicates that schools are more likely to be successful in achieving in-depth learning when school leaders engage multiple stakeholders—students, parents, teachers, and community partners—to build a shared vision of learning. A clear, compelling vision that is connected to teaching and learning helps focus attention on what is important, motivates staff and students, and increases the sense of shared responsibility for student learning throughout the learning community. But where do you begin? Join Dick Spohr in this interactive workshop to consider a process to identify your school’s values and beliefs, to assess the school culture, and use these as first steps in creating a shared vision to help your learning community begin its journey to where it wants to go!  (PK—13)

School Improvement Planning: An Overview of the Process
School Improvement Planning (SIP) can be an overwhelming task – there are many models to use, vast amounts of research to review, and little time to complete this important task. As a result, it can be a burdensome task to already over worked educators – but it doesn’t have to be this way! Join Dick Spohr in this workshop where he will walk you and your fellow team members through a simple, practical approach to School Improvement Planning. This model uses your school’s data to inform visioning, determine current reality, and guide the development of a functional school improvement plan. Data management issues and practical tools
to help you implement your plan will also be addressed. (PK‐13)

Preparing for Your Quality Assurance Review Visit and Maintaining Your Momentum After the Visit!

Are you scheduled to host a Quality Assurance Review (QAR) visit in the near future? Are you not sure what to do after the visit? Then be sure to plan to attend this workshop where you will be provided with an overview of the entire process—beginning with the identification of the date through the actual steps leading up to the school visit, and what to do once you receive the external evaluation team’s written report. This is an ideal session for school personnel who are going through the QAR process for the very first time. Not only will you be provided with an overview of the process, but you will have an opportunity to interact with AdvancED Field Consultants who have chaired numerous visits and leave the session with resources to help your school be prepared to host its visit and know what the expectations are to help your school community maintain its momentum beyond the visit! Data: The Tie that Binds!

We know that we must use data to drive decisions. We are presented with models of school improvement, such as the research-based “Breakthrough School Improvement,” and standards for schools, including those that form the foundation for AdvancED Accreditation. We are also required by Federal and State mandates to complete school improvement plans, technology plans, RtI plans, and a whole host of others. But what is the underlying constant in all of these puzzle pieces? Data! Join Dr. Fred Schouten as he facilitates this session to learn about an approach that unifies all of these challenges through the identification of data sources, the analysis of varied data types, and the synthesis of information into true school improvement efforts—And importantly, how your school can implement results oriented, data-driven continuous school improvement!
